Long ago, I bought an umbrella from the “Museum Store” in Valley Fair. But I returned it because I found a “Rose Chapel” design online. A nice lady looked at the merchandise carefully, going through each pleat, opening and closing it and inspecting the light brown wooden handle with a small/black glue mark, which undoubtedly was were the old price tag would have been but wasn’t when I bought it. She saw that and thought that I had already messed up the umbrella and I told her that it was already there. I asked for the manager and she said: “I’m the manager”. I got uncomfortable and maybe pissed but I my refund. Maybe I should have smiled for better treatment.
Anyway, in recent past, we’ve been getting a free penny here and there. When the cashier didn’t have enough pennies to cover the EXACT change, we got extra. When I didn’t have change to give, someone covered with pennies from his right pant pockets! So maybe I should carry more loose change and in pennies, too. So I could help cover those who need to purchase something. But I don’t because the extra weight in my small/palm-sized wallet would have made my already heavy purse that much harder to hold/lift.
