20250111-0234. Voila! I think I like theme Brute by team Automattic! I liked the wide open spaces and the “homonymous” vibes of neutral colors, such as Black, Cement, Charcoal and Marble, which I tried but the brightness hurt my eyes. The Black and Charcoal colors rendered one of my front page/Homepage image invisible. So I’ve opted for cement which is the color of grays and NOT the aliens knowns as Greys.
I pretty much kept the entire Front Page layout the same and simply added my own text and images. This worked out wonderfully! And I might really keep this theme. But for how long, Flynn? That’s a good question! I do NOT know until I get bored again, basically!
I’ve been struggling with designing and as y’all can see, I really do NOT have any creativity! What I do have is some ability in that “plug-and-play” concept of just plugging in my own stuff and playing around with the elements! Voila! Again I say this is probably a keeper this time!
The header has four columns for my Site title, Tagline and my two navigations: follow me and following.
The footer has two columns, which worked our VERY well. I was able to “squeeze in” the Social Icons block and my credit in the right column. For the first time, I’ve placed my location on the left column.
The top middle group has lots of columns, groups and stacks.
The first group contains four columns. I was able to use my lighter/mirrored Site Icon image on the left column. Below that image I’ve entered only two words which basically describe this entire website: blogs and rants. On the right column, I pulled and placed the first sentence from this platform’s profile About me into the Header. Then I pulled and placed the Front Page Meta Description for my Website description of one-dozen “tags” from the Jetpack app for iPhone into the paragraph below the Header.
The second group contains two Headers for my two catch-phrases (matching in letters and syllables between the human expressions and the animal parts) and my three MAIN pages of former sites.
The third group contains the latest blogs or recent posts. The “sticky post” sports my darker/mirrored Site Icon image on the right column. Below that image is the post “excerpt” to READ MORE. On the left column, there are four recent posts. To the left of each recent post is yet another unused yet colorful Site Icon.
The next group contains two columns of random posts: one random post from my hand-crafted KJV Bible verses (all 31,103 pages) and one random post from my daily prompts from different sites.
The next group contains the health of my blog: Archives, Calendar, Categories, Tag Cloud and Blog Stats.
The purpose for choosing this latest theme was inspired by my most prolific commenter John Jr, whose weblog site (theme Twenty Twenty by the WordPress team) sported HUGE fonts and wide open spaces, too. I was also mindful of and tried to improve upon his criticism of my weblog.
That’s all. It’s getting late. But I’m still NOT sleepy but excited that finally I could STOP switching and editing my themes! End of status report 0324 PST.
