Yup. A bell-shaped curve, with the average being on the middle with freaks on either end of the spectrum… God’s very slow and eternal heart-beat – up and down, like my mood swings and swings being fun during childhood…
Anyway, I am among those on UI and seeking work since 2007. This is great timing for reflection, really, and the realization of the importance of saving money for the rainy days, which include those who need the most “help”. (Where did you think this money came from, huh?)
For example, yesterday evening and for the second time, the head hunter presented me with a job scheduled for the third shift, which is from eleven at night to six in the morning. Now, I’ve never done scary hours at night and told her that I was NOT comfortable. Maw said those are dangerous hours. Whatever, if you need money, you’d grab whatever job opportunity is available.
Besides the fact that this gig is less than forty hours a week and doesn’t pay time-and-a-half, except for overtime, I still can’t find a full-time job that pays my original hourly rate, plus benefits. So I’m not getting any younger and noone will give prioity to older/more experienced people for jobs. My outlook is bleak. There you go.
