“Pandas are difficult to breed in captivity because the females are fertile for only one 36-hour period per year, generally sometime between March and May.”

“Panda infants are especially fragile because they’re born so tiny — about the size of a stick of butter.”

As with all living things on this hellish planet, do NOT expect the concept of immortality or longevity or conservatism. Times are changing and with that goes certain species towards extinctions. Humans are partly to blame while most deaths are “unnatural” to say the least.
