“TULSA, Okla. — Tulane safety Devon Walker remained in stable condition Sunday and will soon need surgery to repair the spine fracture he suffered while making a tackle during a game against Tulsa, officials said.”

“He was tackled around the 17-yard line, with defensive tackle Julius Warmsley and Walker sandwiching him and apparently smashing their helmets into each other.”

Again, I don’t know why guys think that it’s cool to hurt each other (probably from an old programming of killing for food and/or defending territorial rights) or why spectators would watch violent sports in which players could sustain severe injury, paralysis or even death. It’s was supposed to be a fun sport. But nowadays it’s profitable and the only pain for gamblers/investors are the slight dings in their wallets when they loose a game.
