Another busy week

20250417-1231. Greetings, chumps! Today is cloudy. The temperature is cold.

On Monday 04/14, my elderly father ruined my whole day: he reminded me to file our tax returns!

Our normal online site was down for maintenance. So I had to sign-up with an alternate site, which I’ve used in the past with CDs!

That activity took me until before three o’clock in the afternoon, when we ate our late lunch.

I took many screenshots to feel comfortable enough that I was speed-filing correctly.

I did mine first and then did my father’s tax return. Ours are easy and we paid/broke even barely.

Tuesday 04/15, I awoke early and started mowing the backyard lawns on or about 08:30 PST. The cloudy morning helped to keep me cool enough to finish both backyard and then front yard lawns.

(Some old 83 year old co-worker from Moffett Field talked to/spoke with my dad; but I kept interrupting because my dad was just staring and barely would say much. The old guy was interested in taking out my guy to go watch some show girls (to which I told the Filipino that my dad is a good boy) and to drink at the bar, too with some of the other guys. See?)

On Monday 04/15, I charged our two new battery-packs, which surprisingly held its charge for both backyard and then front yard lawns! I think the original package of battery packs were OLD from the start!)

(I picked-up my two new battery packs on 03/31, thinking that I would need two pairs of battery-packs for mowing both backyard and front yard lawns!)

On Thursday 04/03 two weeks earlier, I’ve repaired successfully our broken right rear height adjustment lever after picking up the two bonders from the locker on 04/01!

First, I used the JB-Weld double goo to connect the two broken pieces. I had my dad time me for 6 minutes before it set. The curing time is 30 minutes.

Second, I used the JB-Weld epoxy putty to brace the two broken pieces after the 30 minutes of curing time.

The first goo helped to HOLD the two broken pieces steady whilst the second goo was used to form the brace.

I had my dad time me for 20-25 minutes of kneading SLOWLY the putty into shape and pushing the putty into the nooks and crannies of the sharp angles.

The smell of the first application was apparent and the second application had NO odor.

But to make sure that the pieces are solid, I let the pieces dry before installing back to our cheapest red-colored Craftsman cordless/battery-powered push lawn mower on 04/09.

Then a couple of days later, I decided to repair two long white plastic PCV pipe, which was broken-off from its coupling/holder with the remaining first black/white goo bonder.

The PVC pipe was a makeshift “roller” for our green-colored (boating sails material) patio awning.

Back to Tuesday 04/15 Tax Filing day, we took longer than expected with the front yard clean-up because my dad used the edge trimmer.

After cross-training him on how to use the edge trimmer (he might have childhood trauma, OCD and or autism, which affected his spatial understand of how to use tools), he made our front yard lawn look descent.

But that took out some dried lawn. He also whacked the weeds from the cracks of the sidewalk and in the streets. I really wanted to keeps those weeds as a barrier against the smaller wind-blown seeds!

Just when I thought I had finished my first sweep of our northwest-facing area of maintenance/corner lot (sidewalk, planter strip, curb AND gutter), my dad’s edge trimmings needed to be blown and swept (much like what a barber would do with hair cuts!) We finished before two o’clock because it took me three-x sweeps!

On Friday 04/04, I picked up two more battery packs for dad’s electric blower. The total of three battery packs helped tremendously; because I knew I was gonna use this more than mowing the lawn!

We have only one charger for this electric blower battery-packs; while we have two chargers for the pairs of lawn mower battery-packs.

On Wednesday 04/16 yesterday, dad had his doctor’s appointment. I had awakened early to clean-up my files and reporting bugs to team Happiness Engineers.

I was rushing to drive him to and from his appointments; to finish grocery shopping with him as he helped to hold open the floppy recyclable grocery bags; to unload our groceries; to warm-up our late lunch; and to finish up more archiving of mostly my OCD screenshots.

And today 04/17, we’re winding down. I had awakened early again, tried working on my weblog but then decided to fertilize/water and release some growing squished white Calla lilies from underneath OLD ginger rocks that we dumped from other landscaping projects.

So that’s all until my dad finishes his morning exercises and irons my cloths, which my other uncle once did for his family, too.

Yesterday, I had to chase off cats from using our lawn as their latrine. I hate cats, because their species eat my birbs and other little critters!

In my videos, I’ve listened to some singing birbs in the far distance. I miss hearing ours nearby.

End of transmission 1327 PST.
