“A study published in the prestigious journal Nature Medicine found that a compound in red meat called L-carnitine is associated with the build up of plaque in arteries which causes heart attacks, strokes and vascular disease.”
Recently, Maw has been wary about eating too much meat, including hamburgers, in which one restaurant offers a serving that is good enough for two people. In my old blog entry, I mentioned how I managed to loose weight by avoiding meat. That was when I was 18 years old and had my high school weight. Now I’m a overweight heifer! Bahaha!
While we never ate kangaroo meat, we can’t seem to stop because as per the boy, he mentioned that it’s a good source of protein; while Maw put into her head what the doctor told her: Eat 70% protein. She doesn’t understand that protein can be derived from other food source, such as veggies.
But since it’s difficult to change the eating habits of these old farts, they are doomed to live less than 170 years (a number that Father Paul mentioned in this morning’s sermon. I looked directly at me and of course I assume he/Vietnamese, too, is “specially gifted”.)
Yup. I “know” stuff, sort of. I kept telling the priest to remind the people that their souls are immortal. He repeated those same words as I sat giggling internally and thanking him from heat while seated with my parents as usual.
