Do you use an index to organize your site’s contents? What tips can you share for how to help readers easily find their way to the most interesting posts in your archives?

I’ve done an “Index” page, which is the static front/home page and contains only the pages. I’ve not yet decided if I want to link particular “posts” on this “page”. But in order for this “index” page to work for multiple “pages”, I had to edit each page (a id) to its associated links (a href).
