Barbara Boxer: After Aurora killings, Congress must pass sensible gun regulation
“Assaults weapons ban”
Actually, my old thought was about how weapons are useless unless handled by irresponsible law enforcement/military personnel. A weapon by itself cannot kill a living/sentient being. But in the hands of the lawless/soulless ones, many can/will die.
I’ve not heard/recall too many incidences of the “COMMON MAN” performing random acts of killing innocent/strangers. Such atrocities are usually done by law enforcement/military personnel/psychotically insane.
Regardless which side of the law one happens to characterize, there will always be many Davids to deal with the many Goliaths. And there was no such law in antiquity that would have prevented a small bit to work out.
What’s next — to outlaw Shaka Zulu’s spears and to arrest his spears men? My bad! But I did NOT vote for those currently in office and expected, say in the least, banning violent MOVIES/shows, not banning assault weapons.
That WAS the message behind the Colorado incident — to demonstrate how stupid human monkeys would pay for entertainment value that resulted in violence and ultimately the loss of loved ones through death.
It is pitiful to view these actors expend that much energy to “become” that characterization of violence. [/thoughts ended here]
