Dear diary,
Thursday’s tri-tip beef steak in pressure cooker technique failed! The meat was tough and dry! So for this LEAN type of meat, I would sear the regular way! (Reference: https://cooking.stackexchange.com/questions/21509/what-am-i-doing-wrong-with-my-pressure-cooker). I cannot seem to find beef with more marbling and less lean for tenderness and juiciness. I’ve learned my lesson!
So tonight, I’ve failed again! My chicken wasn’t marinated overnight! The chicken stayed in the pressure cooker for 15 minutes. The meat of the chicken legs were loosely separated. But after ADDING the chicken into my boiling marinate, the flavor wasn’t the same as before! OMG! Kill me now! I should know this stuff!
Anyway, the two HUGE family-sized chicken breasts appeared to be dry, yet juicy and tender to the taste. The chicken stock soup contained the floating yellowish fatty oil from the chicken skin and that is the flavor! So I boiled ONE bag of frozen veggies into the chicken stock soup and that should be good for dinner.
Dad likes soup. And soup is good for him after he works in the garden. He worked in the garden today, though yesterday he wanted to pull weeds. But he felt the air was too cold. Today’s air was still cold but not as biting.
The indoor air is colder because I could hear the centralized heater turn on, and then the indoor air turns warmers and stuffier. I like to breath cold air and fresh outdoor air. But I couldn’t open the window because of the ‘Unhealthy’ air quality per AirNow.gov:
Current Conditions
Air Quality Index (AQI)
observed at 19:00 PST
151
Unhealthy [Code reddish color]
Health Message: People with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion. Everyone else should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.
Note: Values above 500 are considered Beyond the AQI. Follow recommendations for the Hazardous category. Additional information on reducing exposure to extremely high levels of particle pollution is available here.
There are different levels of air quality and color coded, too:
Greenish – AQI: Good 0-50 Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
Yellowish – AQI: Moderate 51-100 Air quality is acceptable; however, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
Orangish – AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups 101-150 Although general public is not likely to be affected at this AQI range, people with lung disease, older adults and children are at a greater risk from exposure to ozone, whereas persons with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk from the presence of particles in the air.
Reddish – AQI Unhealthy 151-200 Everyone may begin to experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.
Purplish – AQI Very Unhealthy 201-300 Health alert: everyone may experience more serious health effects.
Brownish – AQI Hazardous 301-500 Health warnings of emergency conditions. The entire population is more likely to be affected.
At 1942, Dad had finished his LONG shower and came downstairs. He would repeat over and over again like a nutball, err, someone with echolalia: Go eat, go eat, go eat. And then I had my incoming thoughts!
The recent fires with the DEW lazerz might have come from E.T. phone home and pals! Yup. And this might be warning shots for misbehaving humanz! And as a ‘cover-up’ so as NOT to cause public panic, the governmental bodies keep deceiving humanz.
Sincerely,
Flynn B who will partake in this afternoon’s chicken soup recipe.
