Dear diary,
We’re back at the ER due to a ‘fall’ at the SNF. Mom had a soft and stuck BM and I helped her with washing afterwards.
Because she is a strong-willed and determined old lady, she tried to transfer from the toilet to the wheelchair and fell forward, hitting the top right of her skull.
She sat on both her knees, with a couple of dents and slight wound on the left knee. As a precaution, I applied Betadine (from my bag for such incidence) since she’s diabetic.
Mary, the ER nurse assigned to Mom forgot to attach the gray lead to the Size 11 white blood pressure cuff because I heard the unending familiar buzzing noise, which I slowly located as one of two grayish leads. The buzzing sound turned off and I ensured the BP cuff was nice and snug and that the blue-colored Artery Index Marker is aligned to the middle of the inner elbow thing.
Yeah, so it’s 2147 pm and I’m waiting at the ER. We’re frequent flyers and we got Mary again who recognized us.
What I do NOT like about SNF is its lack of staff and stuff. The family members have to bring stuff for the comfort of the patient. That’s why I’m on hand for twelve hours per day for the next eight weeks because orderliness are so hard to find and the CNA seemed to come too late. Mom complained they come 30 to 40 minutes too late. I noticed they come within a few minutes, maybe under five minutes. But because she is VERY fussy and ON-DEMAND, I have no choice but try to assist.
I’m hungry and thank goodness there was some ‘leftovers’ for vacuuming, err, recycling. I’d hate to waste God’s foodstuff, really.
Thank goodness for this nearby electrical outlet for charging in boost mode my smartphone which I’m using to blog. I love the QWERTY keyboard as it makes blogging possible and faster! I don’t think I could upgrade to an iPhone because there’s only a screen and my thumbs are too fat for blogging fast.
Anyway, I guess I’ll wait until she’s back in the SNF. Then I’ll come late tomorrow. I don’t care anymore. I do NOT wanna be liable for anymore incidences! I’m already sustaining injuries just processing her heaviness! WTF! Now my right hand wrist is feeling numb and my already right injured ankle has been affected from trying to lift her up.
I’m done! And Mom has been overheating with low grade temperature at the SNF due to lack of sufficient fluids (because she’s too passed out NOT to choke on a water). And so she’s resting comfortably again.
Something about bad karmic debt has knocked her on her skull and under my watch, symbolically for being a stubborn old fool. I told y’all that it’s better NOT to upset unto moi because something bad can happen and it did.
Sheesh! Can I go home now? No. Okay, fine.
