Yeah, so the free concert went very well. We enjoyed ourselves as we showed our appreciation and patriotism.
As ALWAYS, the military musicians are disciplined/flawless. The conductor really got into the flow. The flegelhorn was good. The MC was “charming and debonair”. He he!
Mom loved the sounds of two vocalists, Michelle and Megan, who sang the popular Hawaiian version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” with Matthew, the newest member playing the ukelele.
I was moving (ever so slightly so as not to annoy the mostly senior citizen behind me) in my seat to the tempo and couldn’t keep my head or my hands from motioning to the beat.
I liked the “Marche Militare Francaise” and “To Tame The Perilous Skies” and of course the remaining four military songs. The songs were all in tune as so were the piccolo player.
Anyway, as per my blog, we plan to attend more live performances whenever possible. It’s a matter of “forcing” ourselves to get out of the house.
It’s a good thing Mom didn’t sleep, which she normally does during the darkened movie theaters, especially if the films are not interesting.
So yeah, support your military, love each other, and do what you can for your country. America is beautiful.
Of course, these reptilians got my blessings, too, as I boosted them and MY sector! I flicked my tongue, too.
The performers came out at 1930 and started/tuned their instruments at 1931, at which time the MC started his roll up until 1933, when the conductor came out.
At 2011-2013, the MC placed a black eye patch with a white “cross-bone” upon his left eye and placed a small telescope on his right eye and mentioned “sea beavers”, a bunch of pirates.
Overall, live bands, especially the military, are worth watching. Patronize your local performing artists, too. They are much better than watching televised programmings.
