Yesterday, I helped a leaf-hopper. I was finishing up my activity of using the air/tire compressor to dust off the four electrical fans, when I noticed a little leaf-hopper stuck inside a spider web, underneath/on the street-facing side of our house.
So I stopped, pondered, and knew it was out of his environ/habitat. I offered my black/acrylic glove, which I used because it was cold outdoors. But it failed to grab onto the material. So I tried to gently pick it up on its triangular-shaped wings, which was stiff/hard to my surprise.
Then I hurried towards the trees and scanned with my stupid/small mind the best place to release the little critter. I tried to release it on the brown tree bark. But it walked away. I noticed it was green. Duh. So I knew that it doesn’t belong on a brown bark of the tree. Duh.
So I presented it to a green leaf of a persimmon tree. Duh. So it instantly grabbed on with is chameleon/suction-like feet. I knew it was a suction feet design because I felt it grab onto the green leave securely. It was strong.
It was amazing that little critter/insect really wanted to go there!
So folks, relax your brain, connect with your knowledge, and release your friend accordingly based on its coloration/species/whatever. Remember, we giants need to help these lost critters find their way home.
