En route to DeCA (Moffett Field, CA) last Saturday, I heard over the local news about a truck driver running over/killing a woman cyclist up in San Francisco. In my opinion, the driver should NOT be charged with manslaughter.

The truck driver sometimes cannot see these smaller creatures of the road. The woman should have NOT squeezed in tight places. For example, I wanted to exit right over the dotted line of the bicycle lane. But there was a BIG/yellow/construction FRONT LOADER truck driving slowing to my left. It was a wide truck and I had to stop to yield to it. Huh!

That’s why we have lots of “road kills” because motorist don’t seem to care what is on the road or share the road, period. It’s a case of Man versus Machine; whereby Machine will always win over Man’s stupidity. It takes two parties to make an accident, regardless of who’s fault it is.

But the way the insurance companies design their “business models” they tend to blame one party more over the other. Think about this with regards to automobile insurances and Obama’s upcoming healthcare insurances. Think about the punishment of one person over another, though no fault of their own.

It takes two to make it right or wrong…
