After replacing new missals, Ben, Carlos & we three talked about talking to strangers. Going out to unknown places is not safe. Now with the economy being so bad, many are starving and some druggies will kill to get their fix.
There was one old, ‘white’ lady with stringy salt-and-pepper gray hair. She would normally park her ‘boat’ of a white car in the handicapped pakring lot across from the Valerio Bakery.
After the scammer asked for some money, Maw told her that if she could afford to smoke and beg for money from some elders living on fixed-income, the old fart could do without smoking. The hag responded, ‘That doesn’t mean anything.’
Ben also told off the old hag. She asked for one dollar, which he didn’t have. He looked at her from head to toe and inquired is her white ‘boat’ of a car was hers and compared his egg-beater of a car that his is less expensive than hers.
She quipped that she was handicapped. He rebuffed by stating his wife is handicapped, too. He blew her off by letting her know that he has been ‘unemployed’ for over 15 years and she has the nerve to ask for one dollar.
Lesson: Don’t feel sorry for these homeless beggars. They have homes. They have cars parked elsewhere to drive off after collecting free hand-outs. I’ve seen lots around my neighborhood hovering around the Berryesa Center. Incredible! They’re spooks, too.
I’ve learned my lesson, too: Just say NO! Being nice (or possessing altruistic behavior) doesn’t pay off. It’s a religious scam. Trust me: You know who you are, idiots!
