Working in the shipyard
All day, long and strong
Helped pay the bills
And filled my expanded girth
With lots of sea food.
I cannot count my bones.
Now the salty air has
Taken a toll on my parts
Rusty and brittle
My belt tightens,
Not once but thrice
During these hard times.

Author’s note: I’ve decided to try writing poetry based on Matt’s weekely photo challenge: Worn.
