I’m still dying from being sick with flu-like symptoms. I would be coughing violently (to the point of throwing up mucus) when the heater turns on, when the strong detergent of Dove Wintergreen coming off the boy’s socks (while I massaged his marathon extremities) went up my nose, when driving away after morning masses and when sitting at my computer workstation for too long.
I’d blow out thick yellow boogers from my left sinuses and sometimes dried bloody ones for either nostrils. The mucus in my lungs are clear due to the five-day antibiotic regime. The use of sterilized saline solution in a can to irrigate my sinuses during bouts of coughing spasms helped to increase the spastic sensation of post nasal drip.
Anyway, after Paw got his prescription renewal, we found ourselves waiting in line at the CVS. Their service is excellent because we lined up almost exactly 15 minutes when we heard the VERY busy Asian girl call his name over the intercom. (When I got my antibiotcs on the 17th, the wait time was no longer the five minutes! That’s fast service!)
During the 15 minutes wait, Paw had used the toilet to crap. I was busy looking for MORE cold-remedies. Since I had finished my generic bottle of Tussin expectorant (Guiafenesin 200 mg) for the 12th and was still coughing violently, I bought a generic package of “Claritin (Loratadine 10 mg) good for 24 hours or twenty tablets worth.
As I looked on the shelves some more, I saw what looked like Jenika’s Emergen-C powder to add into the water and bought a generic package for me to use. I didn’t want the increase my blood glucose level with fruit drinks. That’s why I would rather add supplements to my system rather than eat fruits that hit my system too hard and too fast.
I ingested two servings or the equivalent of 2000% of the recommended daily allowance for Vitamin C — one during lunch at Carl’s Jr with my Portobello Mushroom, Beef Angus burger and another during the GOP debate in Charleston, South Carolina (USA). It fizzes and tastes good. I should have bought the Pink Lemonade for a more acidic taste but the Honey Lemonade is just as good.
I then found the last bottle of Slo-Niacine for the boy’s thick blood, too. The CASH purchase was around $80.00 and included Paw’s prescription.
Overall, I love spending. It’s good for business. I also love health-related remedies and wouldn’t mind trying whatever products are available OTC (or over the counter). It’s better than getting on prescription drugs, which I may need to help control hypertension and high blood pressure. Yup! I’m old and going downhill! Maybe that would help releave my head/ear pressures and reduce the chances of heart attacks/strokes, too.
