Rotary.org: News – Rotary commits additional US$75 million to help end polio

“Although the wild poliovirus is endemic only in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Nigeria, other countries are still at risk for re-established transmission of the virus through its “importation” from the endemics.”

“Every child should have the right to start life with equal protection from this disease.”

“Rotary and its GPEI partners have reached more than 2.5 billion children with the oral polio vaccine, preventing more than 8 million cases of paralysis and hundreds of thousands of pediatric deaths.”

I’ve been warned of charitable donations and the damn guise of doing good for a better world. Of course, a nice “cure” would be much better. But, this is NOT the case. Instead, people in the third world countries would get vaccinated.

I would like to see any side-effects/injuries as a result of this vaccination effort. As usual, there is always a flip-side to the coin. And this is one of those sides.
