20250206-0933. Greetings, chumps! My elderly father and I are safe and sound after visiting the ER yesterday afternoon/evening. The current weather is rainy. The current temperature 50º.
Predictably so, my dad has been correct to mention that yesterday would be sunny and that today and probably tomorrow would be raining.
Raining is good for our two Saratoga Laurel trees, which are responsibility of maintenance by all/any/the adjacent property owners (or usually all/any/the corner lots dwellers here in the City of San Jose).
(Off-topic: I made the sign of the cross while thinking of him being unalive as I headed upstairs to check up on my dad where he was using the toilet standing up (as he kept repeating last night of only being able to evacuation in such an upright position) and where we exchanged the palm to forehead greetings and blessings.)
Anyways, I’ve switched back to theme Timestream and combined my Patterns from several themes in the hopes of finding the correct layout for at least the Front Page or Homepage, which are per se landing or static pages but with the dynamic or updates of our latest posts or blog posts.
In my latest and least colorful or gay orenge (á la DJT skin tones) design modeled after the signup page of my other ranting site on Twatter/Hexed for the Front Page or Homepage, I’ve opted for the basic Dark Black text color against blindingly White Light background color. And this is for and in consideration of readability for those with eyeball impairments.
Just like our favorite Live show/Video guy’s website which probably uses the same website builder services here, I had one design showing the left panel for the dynamic portion of our blog. (I’ll probably be using the third-person and first-person interchangeably here and going forward). The right panel was set to “Sticky” position with only three main landing or static pages called About, Projects and Widgets.
I was VERY frustrated at the many pages PRIOR to the discovery of the Details block/widget, which helped tremendous to present a more compacted version of my Projects page, which included ALL four Projects for Dreams and Blogs; Poems and Prayers; About Us and Our Site; and the Random King James Bible Verses with audio books on our site.
And so I’m down to just the 66 KJV audio bible books and the three main pages: About, Projects and Widgets, which has all the basic WordPress Widgets that I’ve been using in a particular order and set in the sidebar. Now I hardly use the sidebar anymore and instead combine features found in the Navigation widgets listing mostly my static pages instead of my blog posts.
I also have the stand alone pages sharing the Query Loop layout in case the search crawlers are looking for something, such as my Blog, Blog Posts, Blogs, Latest Posts, Post and Posts. I modeled the naming of these pages based on the blocks called Blog Posts and Latest Posts and both the singular and plural forms of Blog/Blogs and Post/Posts, respectively. I’m weird but that’s how I like it!
It’s 1007 PST and I just called my dad’s PCP (or GP in other countries) to schedule an appointment for an office visit and to let them know about what happened yesterday and to get a new authorization for 90-days prescription refills. This “admin” at home stuff is interesting and keeps me busy!
That’s all for now until I find something else to do with my spare tire, err, time. End of status report 1010 PST.
