I learned people live for themselves. Selfishness seems to work to preserve one's ego, which is supposed to be good because it is part of the singularity. Being greedy (namely with money, fortune and fame) is another form of selfishness and so is hoarding useless junk of other people as precious treasures for one's self.
People live life to the fullest while mine passes by slowly like an analogue clock ticking its slower rhythm against my faster heartbeat. They learn to laugh, cry and play all day while mine is winding down for the next meal and nap time to sleep off the food. Sometimes life is also sleeping, whereby one life exists in an alternative reality of a dream state.
And this is what I learned: People live in an illusion by whatever they created from within their own minds. They can live in hell by being vindictive nutballs at their relatives. Or they can live in peace by being social helps with the least of their fellow neighbors.
I learned that the most important thing in life is staying alive and living a life.
