Sometimes, we all need a break from these little glowing boxes. How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us UNPLUGGED.
More recently, I’ve been using my faster laptop computer with an INTEL CORE 17 chip downstairs on the dining room table. I could see/hear/play with the parakeets and interact with my parents more frequently. Though not considered as “quality time”, I’m always there when they need me..
Whenever chores need to be done, I must get up from my big bum and assist these two elderly folks or else face the unceasing verbal retribution. Plus, the extra but slowly paced walking is a low-impact form of exercise, which is good for the blood circulation and helps to prevent embolism in the later extremities.
I also try to find time to exercise on the ZAAZ20K whole body vibration machine. But that’s not the same as when I walk around in circles or at least build up a sweat as a sign that my metabolism is working properly.
Usually, when I’m online late at night, sleepiness is a good indicator to turn off these glowing little boxes. I take the extra step of turning off the power strip, too, to ensure my primary computer upstairs gets much needed rest. The other two computer get powered down but my smartphone must remain turned on – in case of emergency, of course. So I take that sucker to need with me.
