Are Atheists Smarter Than Those Who Believe In God? http://arstechnica.com/science/2013/08/new-meta-analysis-checks-the-correlation-between-intelligence-and-faith/ via DuckDuckGo for Android
Well, I guess I must be atheist because my urgent and most fervent prayers go unanswered and my crystal-embedded organic PORgasms don’t work! Therefore, I am forced to change my mind about believing in God or any external influences, such as aliens and government mind-controls.
“The three psychologists have defined intelligence as the “ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly, and learn from experience.””
“Thus, almost all of the gifted Termites grew up to be less religious.”
“One possibility is that more intelligent people are less likely to conform and, thus, are more likely to resist religious dogma.”
“Thus, intelligent people have less need to seek religion as a substitute for companionship.”
I may not be highly intelligent but I also have my “bullcrap” meter working overtime! As I’m reading these Biblical passages during daily mass, I can’t help but wonder what is the point of holding on to these “words of God”, when ancient bloggers are giving their personal perspective of their times.
Out of respect to my two elderly parents, I happen to attend church daily. I could easily kick-back while I await any employment/job/work opportunities. But since I live with them, I’ve no other choice but to make use of my time by driving them wherever they want/need.
“First, religion provides people a sense of control.
Second, religion provides self-regulation.
Third, religion provides self-enhancement.
Last, and possibly the most intriguing, is that religion provides attachment.”
Once again, religion is a scam. It acts as an outlet for frustrated people, who have nowhere to go, nothing to do, and have no hope from their hellish situations. Unfortunately, in our local parish, there are many crazies who appear sincerely nice. But they are mislead to believe in God when they could learn to “get a life” outside places of worship.
