Woo! Hoo! After being admitted to the emergency room since 1648, I’m waiting for the xray results since 1717 on my right ankle. I’m using my Medi-Cal membership for the first time, EVER!
At around 1400, I slipped and fell on my buttocks and both wrist palm sections. I felt a cracking sensation inside my right ankle as my right foot slipped from underneath my fatness.
I floated onto the cement and felt our ginger rocks upon my back. I used the word floated because both my mother and brother have fallen but escaped serious injuries. Hmm.
Dad tried to help but I rolled over and hobbled carefully, knowing the pain would be felt later, like now! I was smiling and stunned that I felt no pain while lying in the crook of our cement water gutter.
Prior to 1425, Mom helped ice and bandage the affected right ankle. I felt sedated and helpless on her adjustable bed, which was elevated one inch above the heart. That’s what happens without family or friends – no help when I’ve fallen and couldn’t get up.
At 1505, the PCP doctor returned my call after I left a message with the answering service due to member services was closed. I asked for her advice and she left the decision up to me.
As a precaution, I decided to check into the emergency after my younger brother offered to assist my parents. Mom called him, though Dad was slow in getting ready to drive me. Bless his kind soul. He’s here waiting too.
So that’s how poor folks are processed on the system. I have my white plastic admission wrist badge on my left wrist. The pain is handled with the earlier ingestion of 650 mg Tylenol arthritis tablets, taken with banana as something in my stomach.
I’m hoping the processing system would be expedited, so I could go home and reassure my parents that I’m fine and able to serve as geriatric, un-compassionate service specialist. I don’t know if my tendons and ligaments are affected. The xray only shows possible bone fractures.
Thanks, ObamaCare! I’m suffering in silence here. I need to elevate my lower extremities at home soon because there’s a bulge that formed over the upper right sector of the midline ankle and the outer rounded bone.
Hurry! Hurry! My neck and buttock hurt white sitting on this black, wire mesh chair! OMG!
