So my car is stranded at a VALERO gasoline station parking lot. I was en route to CVS to pick up my Dad’s medication when suddenly I heard a loud noise and felt a shaking.
From my rear view mirror, I saw the girl behind me looked to her left. Then I looked ahead and saw smoke, or at least misty fumes coming from underneath the hood.
I signaled to the drivers with my right hand and managed to roll my car safely to the parking lot.
I had a difficult time calling for Emergency Road Side assistance via State Farm because the office is closed and representatives were helping other customers.
I gave up and called home and texted Dad and Das Squirrel. But no one answered. I got pissed but a few minutes later Mom answered and Squirrel, too.
At 1708, I called Matos Towing. It took five minutes for dispatch to let me know they would be here in a few minutes.
Then the tow truck driver didn’t see me and called Jennifer, who told me that the PD, (San Jose Police Department), took precedence.
At 1734, Jennifer told me they’ll be here in 45 mintutes. Huh. It will cost $90 to tow and drop-off at Lafayette St, Santa Clara, CA.
It’s cold here and Dad doesn’t have a jacket.
The radiator hose had burst. I sent Das Squirrel a text message of my busted hose. Luck.
