America sucks! Seriously! It’s tolerating stupids/crazies. I’m talking about abusive people!
While curling Mutha’s hair, I recall what a daughter has done to her vulnerable mother.
The old lady was wheel-chaire bound, frail, and a parishioner.
One day, when the daughter had her on the wheelchair and was about to wheel her mother from the right side of the vehicle, the mother reached out with her right hand/seem almost extended and started to speak as if she wanted to get something.
But the daughter told the mother sternly, “No!” I don’t recall if she yanked the mother’s arm away roughly or gently tapped her arm downward as the wheelchair started to move.
During mass, I noticed that the daughter was frustrated each time. She would rapidly wheel the old lady to the nearest Communion Minister to be the first one to receive the Host.
Other times, she would dump the old lady in the corner nearby and ignore her during the mass.
So it’s a good thing that out local parish had phone numbers for vulnerable adults in the weekly bulletin.
The old woman appeared black with silver hair cut close to the scalp. The daughter looked like Latino or Islander but I couldn’t tell. She was taller than Dad.
