To the Boss:
Although I mentioned how Sister Sara may be a music Nazi (like a similar pun intended along the likes of grammar Nazi), she is correct to modify music to reflect the modern times. So, if she knows what she’s doing, then I don’t know why the pastor needs a “music director”. Sheesh.
For example, I love gospel music and if given a chance, I could render my voice like a black woman, if necessary, which O did during Easter evening mass this year. That’s another hidden talent that your Paw noticed in his language (that I “know how to sing“) when I sang “Amazing Grace” during choir rehearsal Monday night with your substitute. I over-flourished this popular pentatonic melody (a la Whitney Houston).
After morning mass, Wednesday, October 1, 2013 | The Holy Guardian Angels, Sister Sara sang a gospel music: “Angels are watching over all of us.” She invited the children to clap along. For whatever reason, Maw got intimidated and urged the three of us to exit quietly. I wanted to stay!
In another example, I mentioned that Kathy complained about the music and/or “Good Friday” being removed by Sister Sara, who is correct. Read and understand the following sentence from the “Profession Of Faith: Nicene Creed” : “he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day…” Meaning, Jezuz NEVER died but escaped death!
In another example, the brutal audience expressed how they prefer the easy music found in the “Music Issue”. Although some Vietnamese are familiar with Latin and surprisingly CAN sing in Latin, most younger generations wouldn’t care for music in traditional Latin or Italian but would more likely be singing music printed in English.
Do I have an Amen?
Huh,
Flynn…
