What did you think of the post?
- I like the post because it was easy to read and NOT too long. As always, an image at the top of the post helps start off any post. The next paragraph opens up with her issue from her perspective and the second paragraph outlines each main point, which is nicely blocked off with a one-liner highlighted in bold text. Then the summary offers a forward-looking possibility.
Of her blog?
- The blog is normal with a nice header and background. If I could find my OWN photos to upload that is appropriate to my blog, I would. But for now I borrow the WordPress colors and logos.
- The “front page” shows the content of each post in its entirety. Mine shows a “front page” of links and a separate menu item for the “posts”, which are “excerpts” of three words, followed by the “Continue Reading” link. (The purpose is for tracking who really takes the effort to click the link and read my crap. Also, my rants are NOT pleasant to read and therefore only the few brave souls would dare to trod.
- The widget titles are unique, such as “Join the Flock”, “A Few Caws”, “The Flock”, “Temporary Roosts”, “Feathers”, “Hark the Bird Call”, unlike mine, which is default.
Will this affect the way you approach hard-hitting topics on your own site?
- Definitely. I’m NOT a prolific or well-versed writer and her post helps me to figure out how to best present news article that I feel strongly about. But for now I rant incoherently. Hehe.
