I just learned a new word (called `fugly` for fat and ugly) after posting my `20100427-Bad Girl` blog. The WordPress video came up and showed a seventeen second snippet of people clapping to the end of a YouTube.com video: Paul Potts Britain’s Got Talent
Paul Robert Potts (born 13 October 1970) is an English pop opera tenor who won the first series of ITV‘s Britain’s Got Talent in 2007, singing an operatic aria, “Nessun dorma” from Puccini‘s Turandot. Potts was a manager at The Carphone Warehouse who also performed in amateur opera from 1999 to 2003.
The song he sang was:
Nessun dorma (English: None shall sleep)[1] is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini‘s opera Turandot,[2] and is one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera. It is sung by Calaf, il principe ignoto (the unknown prince), who falls in love at first sight with the beautiful but cold Princess Turandot. However, any man who wishes to wed Turandot must first answer her three riddles; if he fails, he will be beheaded.
Right there was a message for moi: `God` is not sleeping.
