What is Good?

So. How do you know when you’ve written something good? When there are lots of “Likes/Thumbs Ups” and Comments to a blog entry, then I’ll assume I’ve written something good.

What are your criteria for judging your work? I do NOT understand the word “criteria”. If one was to”cry” and shed a “tear”, then that means my work has touched the reader at some sort of level.

And how do you stack your work up against the work of others (if you do)? There is no comparison for us amateur writers. My work is good, bad or fugly.

And do you trust yourself? I trust no one. My words are based on everyone’s opinion.

And can you trust your friends’ opinions? I trust no one. Their opinions are VERY influential on my writing.
