20171013-1851. Well while trying my best to swallow left over home cooking, I had an incoming thought.
The Catholic Church is good in covering up and making up stuff. For example, traditionally receiving the Eucharistic host, or simply wafer, crackers, or whatever, the receipiant would first kneel in front of the priest and stick out their tongues.
Nowadays, more urban churches allow Communion Ministers to desecrate and serve the Body of Christ to sinners who are allowed to stand instead of kneel!
So I don’t understand why it’s NOT appropriate to kneel to God as it was a sign of respect in those days and before showing allegiance to the flag, an inanimate object of patriotic worship.
Honestly, I’d like to see some standing (behind) and some kneeling (in front). Again it’s a matter of choice and opinion; for both forms are fine. Sigh.
