An angel in disguise, I saw. Yes. At 1257pm, I purchased batteries (Size 10) for my hearing aids. The Cash tendered was $22.00. The Change was $0.13. I pulled $0.75 from my wallet with the intent of placing this and the change into a metallic can. “That makes my job easier.” [May the “Lord” bless you.] He said. I mumbled/replied with “God” in kind but kept my gaze brief, Asian style, I guess and out of habit and maybe fear of making eye contact or something like that.
I went back to fetch my parents who used the bathroom and for whatever reason went back to the battery display and saw a buy one get second one free (limit four per customer and at regular price).
After the girl phoned for help at the register, the patient/bald-headed/tall/what manager helped stating I should refund and then repurchase said items. It was a dumb moment for me.
At 1306, the Total was $34.22. The Change was $0.78, which I hurriedly put into the dark gray/black metallic can again. The guy said: “Thank you, darlin’.”
Ah! I giggled to myself and thought of a similar reply, oh say, last week via an email as I opened the left/rear/passenger door to Paw’s Mazda, started the engine, backed the car, forwarded and noticed the guy was “air-guitaring!”
So while the network continues to mess around with the Light and “my family”, there are many more workers out there delighting among us. Anyway, that’s one of my many “amusement” worth sharing besides double-digit numbers appearing more frequently from today.
