20170702-1422. Today I’ve learned the difference between snapshot and continuous data protection (CDP) backup.
I have two external drives, which I use for backups. Yesterday, I’ve been deleting files, which are copies upon other copies. Fed up, I formatted my Samsung Portable T3 SSD, which will be used for the CDP backup of my laptop.
The Seagate will be used for snapshot for my files and CDP backup for system and stuff. I noticed the CDP backup makes too many copies, up to 4TB!
