“She is the Sacrificial Lamb.” Touted the crazed Mr. Binh about his wife to Maw a while back. Maw held her tongue and was about to rebuke the demon-seed about the price for his arrogance.
At 0625 am this morning, Ms. Minh passed on. We received a phone call at 2012 pm tonight from the daughter, who spoke with Maw. Maw cried and was saddened that her friend has passed on. We will know the funeral arrangements later.
The boy, who unexpectedly popped over on the premise that the wife was with her insane mother again, was present at the dining room table when he heard the bad news, too. We showed him the unopened Christmas present that we wanted to give to Minh. The boy suggested that we should keep the present 40 days in case the spirit of the deceased old woman (70 years old) might want her unopened gift.
Maw imagined that the family was happy on that day and opened Christmas presents. But it was not so. We theorized that she died at the hands of an abusive husband, who didn’t allow the woman to speak freely with parishioners or to attend social functions, too. The boy, not knowing who the woman was, sensed that the husband was mistreating the wife. We don’t know exactly since we only know them for less than a year or so.
All we know is that the woman had heart problem from the Philippines. Further, both he and the wife were believers in natural remedies, such as bitter melon to control her high glucose blood level and boiled guava leaves to heal the bed sores she sustained from the living conditions inside the house. She had a hospital bed (from Medicare) in the family room. But Maw noticed the rancid smell of the woman and the crumpled bed linens. The CNA from Medicare didn’t do a descent job either.
“It’s the fault of your parents that you have heart problems!” Said the creepy Mr. Binh to the wife. “You shouldn’t be so stubborn! Why don’t you appreciate my efforts?”
Rest In Peace. I will be observing the creep for you. (To Carlos, Binh still has your missing keys, by the way.)
