Dear Lawd Gawd,
WTF? Are y’all serious? Being in the lower ‘middle-class’ is NOT fun, NOT fair, and NOT equitable. Since Monday, I called the county for help in taking care of my parents. I waited on the phone for twenty-five minutes and applied both my parents. I was instructed to call again this Friday to follow-up on the status of my application and within minutes I was given a phone number to call Katherine. I left a voicemail message and wasn’t prepared to write down the email address to ‘fax’ over their applications. I called again to see if I can get that email address but Katherine answered and took down their information again. She said that they needed the doctor’s approval and would be mailing the paperwork to us. We hung up and within a few minutes she called back and wondered if my parents were signed-up with Medi-Cal. They had Medicare because they worked VERY hard over the years. Medi-Cal is only for those without jobs.
I didn’t have a job and thought I would get help but I’m NOT the consumer and my parents wouldn’t qualify. So a few minutes ago, I got a phone call from the division director up north. John said that his client wants to start me next Monday at 0600 AM through 1430 PM, Monday through Thursday. I was happy! But I still do NOT know the particularities, which he will email soon. I’m still waiting for that email. I expect my hourly rate to be low, since it is a non-thinking, data entry temp job from hell!
Mom know we don’t qualify for anything like PG&E Medical Baseline program. But I’m thankfuls, expect Evil Kitty, who wants to eat, err, play with her three parakeets.
Sincerely,
FLYNN B.
