Well, today was weirdly busy. I awoke at 0730 am and Mom showered. I curled her hair, had breakfast, used the toilet, and answered the head hunter’s phone call. While Mom did her asthma treatment, I ran upstairs and made three phone calls – two to cancel my eye exam and dental visit and to call my auto insurance for repair referral(s). I’ll pay that $500 deductible for my precious fender bender. I’ve not yet told my parents that I needed a ride to and from the repair place.
Then we dropped off the Medical Baseline Allowance Application with Mom’s physician for re-certification. This is done every two-years, even if the patient is on permanent life support. The electrical and/or gas rates will be reduced, or discounted. But the wait time for calling the main phone number is horrendous!
After attending noontime mass, we ate lunch at the nearby McD in twenty minutes. We had one hour after mass to kill and so we used up the remaining twenty minutes to use the toilet and wash up after eating lunch inside the MB E430.. This was because Mom was using her portable oxygen concentrator and didn’t want to be seen in public.
Then at 1400 we waited until 1440 for the next specialist on infectious diseases. Mom’s shady nugget in the left lung was too small for a lung biopsy, which according to another specialist is risky and not necessary. He’ll suggest to yet another specialist for Mom to ‘step-down’ her medicine.
After we picked up the faxed form from the first specialist, we waited in the car for fifteen minutes for any customer service to confirm its receipt. We left while still on hold and I hung up after waiting for one hour.
We then picked up Mom’s medication at the pharmacy and bought two types of bread from a local Filipino bakery nearby. Then we came home around 1700 pm and at the same time Das Squirrel showed up.
I had the strength to set-up Mom’s R2O2 oxygen concentrator, cook Ramen noodles, set-up the table for dinner and warm-up the food. Then I managed to wash and dry these dishes while Dad came late from upstairs after processing his rituals.
Now Das Squirrel, Mom, and I are watching a YouTube video fearing Diamond and Silk on The Alex Jones Channel. Das Squirrel is laughing. Mom is dying. Dad is processing his rituals of throwing away the trash for today and wiping down the counter, flooring, and such.
Tomorrow, I hope to sign the authorization and drop-off my precious car for repairs. It’s still good despite smelling of leaking fuel. Maybe, it’s time for a new car. Hmm. Boom!
