At 1930, I’m temporarily able to blog after doing house chores and cooking. My dinner was a large mug of warmed milk and a cap full of Miralax powder, after binging on our holiday ham – Hillshire brand, spiral-cut, brown sugar ham with leg shank bone, earlier this afternoon.
At 1330, I started carving out the ham leg shank bone with Dad’s small deboner knife by Cutco brand. He bought that from Christopher, his God son. I ate the wobbly meat, which was the cartilage area nearest the bone.
Earlier and prior to the ham carving, and while my parents shopped at the crowded Filipino supermarket, I vacuumed the furniture and wooden floor to the master bedroom and its closet downstairs. I removed the clutter of a small side table and shoved Mom’s crap atop the dresser, where her medic and other amenities are located. Later, I lightly mopped the wooden floor with plain water and vacuumed the dust bunnies off the white cotton mop.
After she came home, I ended up using the pressure cooker thrice – one for the ox tails, second for the pork pieces, and third for the tripe. The duration good each is about thirty minutes, with washing and drying the pressure cooker twenty minutes.
I blanced her veggies of baby bok choy, long green beans, and skinny eggplants in salted water. I ate those on the go and that was my lunch and dinner.
After Das Squirrel left upon the call of that Twit Wifey at 1800, Mom cooked and stored her Kare-Kare dish. Now, she’s showering and dad’s eating dinner.
I really hate holidays. I’ve outgrown the scam of gift giving and festivities. I’m looking forward to nothing but rest and relaxation, if any, when those times come. Then again, I should volunteer my time.
We’re planning to sleep early, if possible, and rise early for tomorrow’s early mass. As usual I’m designated driver of the family, since the males of my brood are, well, cray, err, too weak and low energy. Midnight mass is too late and too cold. It’s been raining off and on the whole day. I don’t wanna get sick.
So yeah, I’m not gonna wish y’all anything ever again. I’m practicing that “empty philosophy” of Buddhism, I guess. Just get outta my way and pray for my family and moi. That’s all.
