The powerbrokers took everything.
I have nothing left from my hard work.
They left me high and dry – all alone.
My tears are bone dry like the dessert.
I gave everything up for knowledge
by worshipping ‘God’ of love and peace.
I hate them and their Supreme Being –
Their masters of deception and lies!
My Watchers are still all around me.
They spring forth from their hiding places
Like tonight’s solicitor for help
Amidst his coughing – missing children.
Among the bushes off their side road
By signaling their quickened intent
In an effort to rush out and cut
Me off in traffic or my big head.
I gnash my teeth in fitful anger.
I raise my clenched fists with putrid hate.
I would be happy — let freedom ring.
The jokers’ laughter amuses me.
A poem in response to another poem about television programs spewing nonsense as means to influence the minds of viewers. Makes me wonder if the internet is also a nice tool to shape thoughts and ideas.
