Nothing out of the ordinary happened except more one major meeting about bad performance — a very, burned out person with only one week’s vacation out of four years and four months. The bad timing was especially due to during an episode of being mysteriously sick for three weeks with ‘flu-like’ symptoms and not having a person to back up the area during the transitional phase. I believe the place intentionally does this to keep people for a certain amount of period until they cannot keep up with the demands placed on them.
This goes to show that no matter how hard the person works over the years, no amount of improvement towards good behavior could keep this particular person (on the edge of whistle blowing) in line. The work is fast paced and non stop and too big for one person to handle. The company is by far way too big a monster to care about its workers and will spit out the ones that have not performed at one-hundred percent maximum like a robotic slave encased in its cubicle-like prison where radiation emanates from the computer and monitors.
My personal belief is that the ones without the most responsibilities are easy prey for letting go. The background of anyone could be found out by casual conversations during mealtimes, say, at the cafeteria with a bunch of co-workers. This means that the ones with family members to care for are the ones that will stay longer at work. An ideal member of the hive will not have a mind of his or her own and will meet the expectations of anyone without reservation. Once again this is the fear of not having an income to support the family if there is a chance for retaliation.
My sentiment of the original company has gone far back during my days as a temporary worker since October 2003. I kept quiet for fear of not having a job and went along with whatever my original hiring manager wanted and he got what he needed. (Honestly, I was not satisfied with the tiny one, of course). And then he left with not a word of good bye. This is typical of any guy, in case you women plan to get married to anyone who came from a divorce or with someone with a marriage on rocks. They are basically nuts and not quite normal afterwards.
The fact that only one person had the whole department to herself was a nice package indeed — no real superior to report to and noone to make a big deal about every nitpicking detail that could ever possibly go wrong, if ever. With five and a half superiors behind me, I left my memories of being assaulted by internal complaints (mainly the envy as an untouchable queen unto myself) to two more temporary pods. These human-like pods will fit perfectly into the scheme of doing the best work possible by staying afloat in a world crawling with boogers that would like better than to ‘work around’ the needs of its followers.
Hopefully, no new ones at work will drown as a result of a dose of reality from the changes of their new masters. Being a boss takes great responsibility. Being my own boss is better. I am happier knowing I could be free without the constraints of complying with the man-made words of legality created by the same people who are supposed to protect the ones who work under them. Unfortunately, these pathetic pods should wake up and stop working so hard. Because they too will be made into poop after being chewed, eaten and swallowed alive by the beast within.
Die, losers! You’re next! Hehehe!
