Reposting Quotes

Since there are already lots of websites on quotes and since I’m so bored at this “temp job from hell”, I’ve decided to “repost” some inspirational quotes from my “daily companion” for the month of March 2011 this one time. I hope the publication won’t mind. If so, let me know because I’m dumb. 🙂

March 2: “A soul who is really resigned to God’s will does not become attached to any created thing because it sees clearly that all things are nothing except God.” ~BL. HENRY SUSO.

March 3: “O Jesus, divine Savior; grant that I be no longer deaf to your heavenly call.” ~ST. KATHARINE DREXEL.

March 4: “O Hear of Love, I put all my trust in you. For I fear all things from my own weakness, but I hope for all things from your goodness.” ~ST. MARGARET MARY ALACOQUE.

March 5: “Give me, Lord, a full faith, a firm hope, and a fervent love, a love for you imcomparably above the love of myself. These things, good Lord, that I pray for, give me your grace also to labor for.” ~ST. THOMAS MORE.

March 6: “Belief and faith are proved by work, not by simply saying that one believes, but by real actions, which are kept up, and by a heart burning with love.” ~ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM.

March 7: “If we share with the poor, out of love for God, whatever God has given us, we shall receive according to God’s promise a hundredfold in eternal happiness. What a fine profit, what a blessed reward!” ~ST. JOHN OF GOD.

March 8: Look upon us as we enter these Forty Days bearing the mark of ashes, and bless our journey through the desert of Lent to the font of rebirth. May our fasting be hunger for justice; our alms, a making of peace; our prayer; the chant of humble and grateful hearts. All that we do and pray is in the name of Jesus. For in his cross you proclaim your love for ever and ever.” ~CATHOLIC HOUSEHOLD BLESSINGS AND PRAYERS.

March 9: “The cross, with which the ashes are traced upon us. is a sign of Christ’s victory over death.” ~THOMAS MERTON.

March 12: “Girded with faith and the performance of good works, let us follow in Christ’s path by the guidance of the gospel; then we shall deserve to see him who has called us into his kingdom.” ~RULE OF ST. BENEDICT.

March 13: “Can there be a more fitting pursuit in youth or a more valuable possession in old age than a knowledge of Sacred Scripture? In the midst of storms it will preserve you from the dangers of shipwreck and gude you to the shore of an enchanting paradise and the everlasting bliss of the angels.: ~ST. BONIFACE.

March 14: “Strive to love your neighbors actively and indefatigably, and the nearer you come to achieving this love, the more convinced you will become of the existence of God and the immortality of your soul.” ~FYODOR DOSTOYEVSKY.

March 17: “Whatever will come my way, whether good or bad, may I accept it calmly, and always give thanks to God, who has ever shown me how I should believe in God, unfailing and without end.” ~ST. PATRICK.

March 18: “Cleanse your vessel, so that you may receive grace more abundantly.” ~ST. CYRIL OF JERUSALAM.
