Since I cannot afford to pay hundreds of dollars to retrieve an old domain name, I’m checking to see if I still could register that domain name through one of my WordPress.com weblog. I guess it has not yet gone into the public pool. This is the message I got:
Domains
Someone (maybe you?) already registered [domain name here], but the domain is not pointing to WordPress.com.
I own this domain. Help me fix it!
Using the DNS tools provided by your domain registrar, remove any existing nameservers and add the following:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
Then come back here and try again. It may take several hours for our system to recognize the changes.
If you need more information, see our Mapping an Existing Domain support guide.
[I changed my domain’s nameservers. Try adding my domain to my blog again.
I don’t own this domain. Can I try another?
Go ahead. Try as many as you like to find that perfect domain.
