20181025-2341. Well today went well. I tried to be positive in reply to my dad’s inquiry if we could leave early for today’s two activities of walking around the mall or the rotunda in front of the y’all statue and attend noontime mass – both of which we missed due to my spontaneous combustion, err, change of plans. But I knew that he couldn’t be rushed or reminded that we are almost always late.
Just when we were about to leave, I read my email messages, err, listened to a voicemail message from this morning and I had to return the phone call of what sounded like an elderly woman. And so the phone rang and rang. And she answered, gave me the address, and my dad and I stuffed his trunk with the bags and one bag of donations which later weighed twenty seven pounds.
I was still disturbed, err, bothered, err, frustrated that we had accumulated so much stuff that we cannot handle is care and maintenance or simply don’t use these items. I was encouraged to donate after Monday’s visit to a medical supplier where I inquired where I could donate excellent/new to good medical equipments and supplies.
The woman gave me the name but she didn’t know the exact address which I looked up online later that same Monday I called the office and they accepted the machines but not the supplies. So on Tuesday we drove to the place and donated the two medical equipments along their own bags and I got my signed receipt as my only souvenirs of the leg work.
Then the natural process of donating the medical supplies was next and I searched online for another non-profit organizations that would accept donations for distributing to those on need and on Tuesday I emailed the detailed items – product description, quantity, conditions, and other stuff.
Now I have gained an empty plastic bin for storing more stuff. Eventually I hope to keep my personal belongings limited to the walk-in closet because I can’t treasure it anymore.
Hiss.
