Once again, it has been partly my idea to call family and friend as a courtesy to inform them of Maw being in the hospital. I, that’s moi, was able to contact two of Maw’s friends and two relatives. Two cannot make it because one is an elderly woman who cannot drive and the other relative is due for surgery because of another potential aneurysm.
A couple came by dressed decently. My paternal uncle is very good with reading maps and driving far. He was able to bring my auntie-in-law, who despite being the bane of gossiping in our family, was able to communicate with Maw, whose birthday is exactly one day and one year ahead of her sister-in-law.
I received a call from a parishioner but she didn’t know why we were not attending church because she was stuck at home taking care of her grandchildren. Her husband doesn’t know but again as a courtesy informed these two kindly folks a heads up as to why we were not attending church.
