Yesterday was good for me. Although I don’t have a significant other, my family has been the loving people in my life.
The wife of a big boss here made chocolate covered truffle(?) balls with red-colored piping on top. I sneezed twice in a row after swallowing the first bite. That means I’m still allergic to chocolate, no doubt.
Then when I arrived home, I saw a red-colored, heart-shaped box on the dining table! I squealed in delight when I saw cut-out of a gray, Siamese cat with blue eyes on the box. Around its neck, there was a raise heart-shaped jewelry piece and a red ribbon to “hold” it.
Of course, I ate two coconut pieces. There were eleven altogether but I consolidated those in a plastic jar. The kitty kat is now stuck to the refrigerator as a decoration.
After dinner, I opened my cards from my parental unit and the boy.
Here are the poetic words from a (“Between You and Me” card from Hallmark):
For My Sis!
Everyone needs at least
one person in their life
to whom they can turn
when their world comes falling down…
and in my life, that person if YOU,
my wonderful sister.
I wish I could express to you
what it means to know that you love and accept me,
knowing all the things you do about me.
You’ve seen me at my worst,
my silliest, my dumbest,
and yet you always choose
to focus on my best self.
And nobody understands me, comforts me,
or can reassure me like you do.
You’ve actually become
one of the best friends I’ve ever had.I’m so very, very lucky
not onlyu to have you for a sister
but also such a dear
and cherished friend.~Linda Lee Elrod
