In a rare event of the Flynn’s life, I have decided to rest on the cement in our backyard. The winds were blowing cold and my usual mid-afternoon “prana” needed to be recharged. So I grabbed an old “beach towel” of faded yellow from the linen closet upstairs and two pillows (one of barley husk for my head and one of foam for underneath my lower extremities).
Of course, Maw was the wise one and told me to blow the dust off the cement. I did and there was LOTS of fine dust, probably from the construction of laying fresh asphalt on the streets just north of us.
I laid myself near the parakeets, who were enjoying the cool breeze, too. From around 3:00pm to 3:25pm, I relaxed and tried to go to sleep. I didn’t feel much pain on my back except some discomfort from the left hip bone area. I re-adjusted my spine with the sounds of snap, crackle and pop and felt the upper back bone curve slightly into the cement. Hopefully, this position would push back the curvature in place.
Besides the faint smell of tar and feeling the cold wind getter colder (as I didn’t wear any vest jacket to keep my torso warm), I found a comfortable position by laying my arms stretch out from downward, much like you would in paintings of those standing with palms facing the viewer. The stretch of different muscle fibers was new, too.
Of course, I expected to connect to the earth and etheric winds. I initially felt a few quick jolts and then felt the rumbling of an imagined ground movement. Then as I concentrated, I saw through my closed eyelids, three distinct colors of light pink, yellow and light blue in concentric circles, respectively. That was refreshing, too.
The winds would pick up tremendously as I continued what seemed to be only a five to ten minute *excessive exercise. For you see, during my relaxed and/or dream state, I am well “aware” and do “sense” that the perspective of time is “compressed”. Upon “waking up”, the actual time in “reality” is twice the length of unconsciouness (or twenty minutes).
I want to try camping outdoors for once, now that my system has gotten used to pain thresholds of nothingness. For whatever reason, the pain doesn’t register as much except in the mind. I hope that’s not “bad”.
