I don't like loud sounds. And barking dogs make loud sounds. I like softer sounds. And cats make meowing sounds that soothe the nerves. Cats purr, too. Dogs drool.
Although both dogs and cats have PARASITES and smell of meat, they make good pets. I never `owned` either species but feel cats are more independent than dogs.
Dogs are man's best friends. Cats don't need men. Cat's just come and go as they please. Cats a fastidious and like to cover up their mess. Dogs need to be potty trained.
It appears that cats know a bad person from a good person, just like dogs can tell if there is an intruder on its property or if its human friends are in danger.
One time a stray cat was walking on a fence of a stranger's house. I saw it through the glass side door to my left. I was sitting in the middle of the room and on a soft at that time. As I continued to stare at it, the gray cat hissed at me. I turned my gaze away, thinking that I'm a bad person.
