Tell us about a time when everything seemed to be going wrong — and then, suddenly, you knew it would be alright.
Photographers, artists, poets: show us SAFETY.
I wanted to be wealthy and enjoy life among the “rich and famous”. Unfortunately, greed clouded my “common sense” and I went into debt, which my parents helped to “bail out”. That was the winter of 2010.
Now, it’s 2013, and my newest fear was qualifying for “Affordable Health” insurance; since the individual mandate goes into effect starting January 1, 2014.
This “time” period of my life, in particular, “seemed to be going wrong”. But for whatever reason, and through the will of Allah/Buddha/Brahma/Jezuz and pals, I knew everything would be alright.
First, I’m jobless. Second, without the compassion, kindness, and love of my parents, I would be homeless, too. They were able and willing to help out in anyway they can and that’s inspiration for me to behave around our local parish, where my help is need, too.
Third, my savings is down to two grands, which means that I’ve tithed 100% of my hard-work through regular paychecks from the private sectors and the rest through government subsistence, as a weird form/means/way of “pay-back” from the above scenario. The rest was diet food, clothes, computers, office supplies, and other personal enjoyment beside traveling our partying.
Since the start of open-enrollment of Obamacare on October 1, 2013 (through December 31, 2013), I was panicking. I was hurting bad since I didn’t know what to do or where to turn.
For one week, a “thought” came through my small mind. I wanted and had to seek help. There was a local “authorized independent agent,” who sells auto, health, life, and other services.
For a long time, he has been working next door to this hair salon, where Maw, is currently getting her permed hair washed. It’s a Wednesday and that’s a good time for the main person to do her hair. Plus, Maw wanted the convenience of a perm because get cow-licks are stubborn.
Anyway, after viewing the Google street of the hair salon and seeing the company name of the next door agent, I looked up the phone number online and in the white pages of the AT&T phone book.
At 1042 AM, I called him up and within a few minutes we visited and met him for the first time. Maw got emotional and got the guy angry. But later we sympathized with each other. He is good at calming the wild beast and reassured the banshee that he would help me next month after the dust settles.
Yeah, so I’ll qualify for something. Nothing is for free, though. And after researching unsuccessfully online, being confused and overwhelmed with the data sets, I exhaled a sigh of relief. Truly, through all the alleged negativity bring sowed out by mating steam media on our cable news programming, being positive and hopeful help a long way.
Thanks and blessings of gratitude be unto the will of Allah/Buddha/Brahma/Jezuz and pals. Amen.
