You’ve heard this line: “I’m never going to wash my hand (whatever)!” I felt like a groupie but not really excited initially but afterwards. Blah.
Well, after excusing myself early from work again, I drove my parents to Mom’s cardiologist.
I don’t recall but this would have been the first time that I ever shook his hand!
Again, he’s the inventor that gave the “jewel” to the late great purple-eyed actress.
Anyway, he’s a tall dude, gray-haired, thin, and calm. Of course, I was being weird and pulled out my pendant for show.
Anyway, I had to be careful in what I said around him because Mom was her usual excitable self of appealing to the doctors and she didn’t hear or remember what he said about taking an extra dose at bedtime.
Mom noticed that doctors are lacking compassion because they no longer take the time to educate the patient or at least give the patient the brutal truth and honest opinions.
We asked him how bad is her heart. But he repeated twice: her heart is “good”, meaning the angiogram results were good. I was thinking if doctors can check people for heart worms and have her de-wormed to remove any resulting neurotoxins/toxoplasms that may/might cause her “behavior”.
So that’s the “science” part of medicine. Medical doctors are only good in ordering tests, interpreting diagnosis, prescribing medications, and/or performing surgeries.
As for the “applied art” of medical professions, it’s customer service. The workers are trained to be “positive” because the patients are already “sick” and any “negativity” would loop over and over in their minds.
Basically, it’s up to the patient to self-educate before, during, after, each doctor’s visits, procedures, surgeries, whatever.
Everything is online. Be educated. Use “KEY WORDS” and keep the sentences short and simple.
Because MediCare, especially (I don’t know about Medical/Medicaid), is forcing the doctors to log their observations of how the patients BEHAVE and what was discussed, whatever.
Get it? It’s all government most of the time.
