Since most themes here at WordPress.com do not have top, global or navigation bars and instead uses the sidebar widget called `Pages`, I’ve edited my pages and narrowed the parent pages to only three:

  • Pages (sitemap);
  • Archives; and
  • Posts (latest).

While all three are really `pages`, logically, I moved the `Contents` page as a child to the `Pages (sitemap)` as a parent. So this means there is really no `Home` or `Front` page, only a static page, which is `Contents`.

Again, trying a theme here at WordPress.com – The Journalist v1.9 by Lucian E. Marin, has its pros and cons. I just like the way the Archives template includes the tags.
