While sitting in the doctor’s office for Maw’s 10:30am appointment and after the mere five minutes of actual `visit` from checking her medical records to taking her blood pressure (twice), Maw got a chance to ask health-related questions to the upcoming health care insurance reform bill.
From the best of my recollection, the good doctor mentioned:
- People should get the best price for the best care available.
- Illegal immigrants should NOT get health care PRIOR to one-year of being in the country.
- Illegal immigrants should pay for health insurance AFTER one-year of being in the country (i.e. the United States of America).
- Affordable health care insurance should be available, even for the poor.
- Even one dollar ($1.00) should be paid PER visit under those signed up with the current Medicaid program.
Here are more information of sentiments that I’m sure he mentioned via e-mails to representative, people in the medical community, patients and town hall meetings:
- PAMG is unionized and get 50% more funds for exanding facilities, in spite of budget cuts in reducing overhead, such as less toilet paper, napkins, Styrofoam cups, coffee, etc. Awww!
- He is NOT unionized and therefore doesn’t benefit from profits.
