20060423-Clueless Connecting

I love playing games, especially when growing up with my babysitter in Norfolk, VA. There was the ‘Life’ where most want to end up as millionaires, the ‘Chutes and Ladders’ of going up and down to nowhere and the ‘Sorry’ of being somewhere that seemed bad.

Other games where jumping from the sofa as high up as we could towards the ceiling and downwards below to the floor to the song of ‘We All Fall Down,’ which may have been from the ‘Osmond’ but am not too sure now.

The babysitter of the daughter would get mad at her for letting us play this dangerous game and she would pinch her by squeezing, lifting and turning some skin mostly on her upper arm. Our playmate would cry and say sorry and we kids played some more when she was not looking.

I love to do puzzles of all sorts: crosswords, word searches, mind games and connecting the dots. The word puzzles of filling or looking up different words are medium hard while the mind games of testing the thinking abilities to solve math problems or logic were the hardest. The easiest was connecting the dots.

Connecting the dots involved no thinking at all. There were numbers that guided us kids that resulted in pretty pictures of animals, plants or people. Sometimes we could fill in the outlines with pretty colors from different named crayons, which when first new would squeal in the right tone by holding the waxed pieces completely vertically.

Playing games and solving puzzles were fun when I was younger and still enjoy doing a few crosswords and word searches from a television guides, which also contains horoscopes. Horoscopes are also entertaining as I compare my birth sign of Sagittarius to other celebrities and wonder if I am similar to them in every way.

I am sure there were other games from my childhood that were not as memorable as the ones I’ve mentioned. My memories of the past have faded and are not as etched into my memory banks as other people I’ve known.

The hardest game to play as an adult is taking a hint and solving clues. People would joke with me and I would play along thinking that what they have said is true. I’d smile and laugh with them and would find out later on that there is no truth in their statements.

Brat is notorious for making me a fool because he would string me and everyone else along. This would make people like me angry later on because of the confusion he’d create in his audience’s minds. Some people do not understand how to lighten up, especially us women.

His sense of humor comes from the side of Paw. I’ve got a few kickers of my own here and there and have learned to utilize this inheritance into my blogs. But I seem to find that the guys are funnier on both sides of the families.

I do not mind playing games now that I’m older. This keeps my inner child fresh and alive. The only difference is that instead of being mostly fun and innocent; the games affect other people who seem to have no fun and are no longer innocent to take a joke at face value.

There should be a general compilation of rules somewhere to guide and direct the adults to behave properly. Etiquette and self help books do provide various sources to allow the persons to think for themselves. Talking to people everyday and reading articles online are other ways to gathering information.

People would be less confused with reduced distortions to the already overwhelming information. Each mature individual would then hopefully be more responsible in any action, word or deed performed in any given moment in time.

Unfortunately, there are people who are quite clueless and may at times misconstrue the meanings behind the messages of the originators. Some may act upon these data with unfavorable results; some do not think there is of any importance and let the matters fall away.

I find myself being very clueless most of the time. This is no fault of mine because I have a difficult enough time hearing the people speaking loud enough through background noises or clear enough through clenched teeth. The messages that do not reach my already bad hearing are at best noise.

A noisy world is uncomfortable and the sounds could overwhelm those who are quite sensitive. I, for example, am sensitive to loud and sudden noises and to noisy crowds. Noise does not have to be sound.

Noise is what makes data unclear or intelligible. Meaningless fact is noise. Irrelevant information is noise. People say things that do not make sense. The world with its past and current events did not and does not make sense. I don’t know if I’m making sense now.

Those that try to make sense sometimes miss the mark. Silent treatments should indicate that the lack of interaction means there is either no answer and are found elsewhere or there are certain persons who should keep quiet and not contribute anymore noise, especially to a particular forum.

Those that continue to miss the mark are completely lost. Dropping hints along the way should indicate that there is some effort in play to prod the clueless minds like sheep that need to find a way home. An ideal home for those seeking answers is the greener pastures.

Direct explanations are the last resorts and spoil the game of making the person wiser. When a homer has been established, there is no more noise. I personally have learned much better when my teachers offer their knowledge or wise explanations simply because the data provided was either not readily available or not easily understood.

The goal all this time for me in particular has been a series of pounding simple sense into my clueless mind, which has had a difficult time in connecting the dots of various data in order to arrive towards the conclusion that Silence is Golden.

Then again, I prefer to communicate my personality to the world via my blogs rather than to remain silent and go unnoticed among the multitude of voices. Because in reality, I’m too soft spoken to be heard and too timid and shy (at first) to carry on a normal conversation.
